Founder & Director

Disciplines: Hoop, Trapeze, Rope, Chains, Lollipop...

Lindsey Higgins is the founder and owner of Rebel Circus Collective in Tottenham Hale, a dynamic hub that houses three innovative companies.

First, The Rebel Circus is a circus school dedicated to teaching the art of circus performance to students of all ages and skill levels. Lindsey’s passion for circus arts is matched by her commitment to fostering a supportive and creative community.

Lindsey also leads a wellbeing company that emphasizes the connection between mind and body through mindful and holistic practices. This approach integrates physical fitness with mental well-being, helping individuals achieve a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

In collaboration with Dr. Helena Hollis, Lindsey co-runs The Limitless Circus C.I.C, a Community Interest Company focused on making fitness and circus arts accessible to disabled individuals. This initiative reflects her dedication to inclusivity and her belief in the transformative power of circus arts for everyone, regardless of ability.

Lindsey Higgins began her journey in aerial arts in 2014, when she was working in Veterinary Medicine for many years, she decided to explore the aerial world after years of gymnastics as a child. Starting with Trapeze in her mid-20s and quickly developing a deep passion for the discipline. She expanded her skills by training in Hoop, Rope, Silks, and Straps at various London schools, arranging much of her training independently.

Over 10 years of training and teaching, Lindsey's pathway has lead to the skill set for teaching and performing: Hoop, Trapeze, Rope, Chains, Lollipop, Straps/Loops, and Vertical Dance/Harness.

In 2016, Lindsey co-founded The Forgotten Circus School, a project she co-directed from the ground up. The school was dedicated to providing a safe space for individuals to learn and grow through aerial arts, fostering a community of like-minded people committed to developing their circus skills.

Over its seven-year run, The Forgotten Circus School became a thriving community with over 3,200 members and provided jobs and opportunities for over 100 London and UK teachers.

When The Forgotten Circus School closed its doors in 2023, Lindsey launched a new school with a renewed focus on accessibility.

After securing Arts Council funding to teach Aerial Teachers Accessible classes and provide classes for disabled individuals in circus arts, she renovated the new facility to be fully accessibility-friendly. Drawing on eight years of experience in running a circus school and teaching numerous classes, Lindsey has now established a larger, more inclusive circus school in the heart of Tottenham Hale.

With over a decade of expertise in managing fitness and wellbeing businesses, as well as extensive experience in production management, performance, directing, and event creation, Lindsey possesses a remarkable skill set. Her deep understanding of these diverse fields empowers her to craft any environment imaginable, tailored to meet the unique needs of every individual. Her ability to blend these elements seamlessly ensures that each project she undertakes is not only innovative and effective but also inclusive and accessible for all.
